What is Performance Max?

Performance Max (PMax) is the most advanced advertising format in Google Ads, allowing you to automatically reach customers across all Google channels – from Search and YouTube to Gmail. These goal-based campaigns use artificial intelligence to optimize performance in real time and deliver the best possible results.

PMax complements keyword-based Search campaigns and helps reach more converting customers across all stages of their shopping journey.

We recommend running Performance Max campaigns for all online stores, especially at the start of using Tanganica. PMax is ideal for e-commerce, as it effectively manages ad performance and attracts relevant customers. It also allows performance advertisers to utilize all Google Ads inventory within a single campaign, maximizing both reach and efficiency.

How to run PMax campaigns in Tanganica

1. Upload your logos

  • In the Upload your logos section, click Select images.
  • Upload at least 1 logo (maximum 5).
  • If you don’t have logos ready, click Generate image with AI ✨.

2. Upload your images

  • In the Upload your images section, click Select images.
  • Upload at least 3 images (maximum 15). Recommended formats: 1:1, 1.91:1, or 4:5.
  • You can also use Generate image with AI ✨.
  • On the right, you’ll see a preview of your ad across placements (Discover, YouTube, Gmail, Search, Display).
  • Once your logos and images are uploaded, click Continue. ✅

3. Add text headlines

  • Enter your main long headline (up to 90 characters).
  • Add at least three short headlines (up to 30 characters each).
  • You can click Generate with AI ✨ for automatic suggestions.
  • Add more headlines with + Headline.
  • A preview of your ad appears on the right.
  • When done, click Continue. ✅

4. Add text descriptions

  • Enter a short description (up to 60 characters) to quickly grab attention.
  • Enter a long description (up to 90 characters) to highlight the main benefit of your offer.
  • Click Generate with AI ✨ for text suggestions.
  • Add more descriptions with + Add description.
  • A preview of your ad appears on the right.
  • When finished, click Finish. ✅
